Established in the fall 1999, Rivers Edge Farm is located on 27 scenic acres Bethany, CT. Just a stone’s throw from Waterbury or New Haven, this unique 37 stall hunter/jumper facility has many amenities that set Rivers Edge Farm above and beyond the competition. A full care staff, indoor and outdoor arenas, all day grass turnout in immaculate board fencing, access to miles of scenic trails along the reservoir waiting to be explored! Rivers Edge Farm is a full-service farm offering hunter/jumper training, boarding, showing, English riding lessons, a summer riding program and much more! Whether you’re looking for a competent facility to board and train your hunter/jumper, want to enroll your child in riding lessons, or wish to revisit the passion for horses you had as a child, Rivers Edge Farm can accommodate your equestrian needs.
Rivers Edge Farm’s the horse boarding/training program goes above and beyond the traditional approach. An athlete isn’t created by training only—the nutrition, medical care and other behind-the-scenes aspects all contribute to a top-performing individual. Rivers Edge Farm boarding and training focuses not only on the performance of your horse, but also the nutrition, turn out, quality of vet and farrier services needed to develop a top notch hunter/jumper.
Whether you’re looking for recreational riding or want to get back into the show scene, Rivers Edge Farm’s lesson program has it all! The lesson program offers 8-week sessions with competent instructors geared to accomplish goals small and large while fostering a love for our equine friends. Four schooling shows and five USEF rated shows are offered to show off your equestrian skills if merited.
The summer horse riding program for children 7 years and up offers an experience of a lifetime! A full schedule of riding, learning about nutrition, colors and other horsemanship aspects will have your child beaming from ear to ear. For those with riding ability and already enrolled in our lesson program, there are weeks designed to expand their horizons about more specific disciplines within English riding, such as showing, eventing, dressage, and drill team.
