Introductory Riding Lessons Package

Rivers Edge Farm’s introductory horse riding package is a great way to get back in the saddle at an economical price! Our introductory program offers four private lessons aboard one of our lesson horses chosen for your level. Whether you’re brushing up on skills or learning the ropes from scratch, the combination of a professional instructor and tolerant horse makes getting back to riding an obtainable goal! Horse lessons are given rain or shine in our spacious indoor or outdoor riding arenas. We have riding helmets available. We require you wear long, comfortable pants and a shoe with a heel for the best riding experience.

Semester Riding Lessons Program

For those serious on working toward goals, or looking to do something special for themselves or their child, Rivers Edge offers a semester program for both children and adult horse riding lessons. Our eight week programs guarantee you a spot in one of our small, structured groups or in a private lesson if you’re still building your confidence and basic position. If you miss a lesson, there is ample opportunity to make up on another day or evening with any horseback riding instructor, or you can take advantage of our make up week at the end of each session. For those attending all of their lessons you can ride the make up week and just pay for an extra lesson with the next semester fee.

Schooling Shows

The Rivers Edge Schooling Show series is a great way to introduce goals and independence in a low-key show environment. In a lesson, the instructor is there for guidance at all times. In a show environment, the rider must be able to think and plan independently. It’s a great way for the instructor and rider to build communication skills as they monitor goal achievements.

Four (4) horse schooling shows are offered each year, with a variety of classes for children and adults. The lesson horses are available for use so your child can practice on their favorite mount and carry the progress through to the day of the show. Though ribbons are involved, instructors and trainers stress the real reward lies within doing your absolute best. Points are awarded for each ribbon placement, and an end of the year banquet celebrates achievement, sportsmanship and attendance for these learning experiences.
