2010 CHJA President's Award is presented to Sue Horn

At the Annual CHJA Banquet held on Saturday, February 5th, Sue Horn was presented the 2010 CHJA's President's Award along with the Glenn Duffee Memorial Trophy (Donated by the Glenn Duffee Family & The CHJA. "This award is presented annually to recognize and honor someone who has given unselfishly to our sport and to the CHJA, above and beyond personal interests. The recipient of this award is chosen by the CHJA President to be honored by the Membership at the Annual Banquet."
"Sue Horn has been a member of the CHHA and an active member of the Board of Directors for more than 15 years. Currently serving as the First Vice President, she has also served on the Equitation Committee, Nominating Committee and Awards Committee. Sue has chaired the Awards Committee for the last five years and tirelessly donates hours of her time making sure our awards are not only good quality but economically viable.
An accomplished rider and respected professional, Sue is a willing participant in many other CHJA activities and often shares her vast experience in the horse business. She is quick to volunteer and does so with a smile. A devoted wife and mother, Sue runs River's Edge Farm where good sportsmanship and horsemanship are always a part of the lessons she teaches." |

The 2010 Ann Confield Perpetual Trophy is Awarded to Katrina Matz!

The Ann Cofield Perpetual Trophy is awarded to the High Point Rider for theAnnual Schooling Show Series. This award is given in recognition of an outstanding horsewoman (Sue’s Mom). Ann has competed and trained in three different equestrian disciplines: Endurance, Saddle Seat and Hunt Seat riding. She continues to teach Hunt Seat and Endurance riding into her 70’s. Ann founded the Georgia Endurance Riding Association. She has competed in her various disciplines all over the country – her most recognized accomplishment was the completion of the Tevis Cup (a 100 mile endurance ride over the Pony Express Trails in CA in less than 24 hours) for her 50th birthday. Ann will compete at the Vermont 100 this summer with the goal of completing 50 miles. We are proud to award this years High Point Trophy winner to another outstanding horsewoman, Katrina Matz! |
